Easing The Symptoms of CystitisWhile you are waiting for your Waterfall D-Mannose™ to arrive, here are some suggestions for things that may help ease the symptoms meanwhile. Personally, we have tried all of these, before the time of Waterfall D-Mannose, and they never successfully cleared an infection, but did help ease things off a bit sometimes. You might have to experiment to find out what works best for you. And remember that herbs can be as powerful as drugs - always ask your doctor for advice before embarking on any new treatment. Herbs should be used with caution. When you are using known diuretics continually, please be aware that the acidity of the urine may increase significantly and that excessive loss of magnesium may occur. Suggested use is as a tea made from sufficient of herb in a cup of hot water; or as a tincture. If it's capsules you get, you can empty them into an ordinary cup of tea also. It's been suggested that it's best to use three capsules per time. Uva Ursi — Traditionally used as an antiseptic with soothing properties. Goldenseal root — Said to act as a powerful natural antibiotic, so may upset
your digestion, but worth a try. Buchu —
Soothing diuretic and antiseptic for the urinary system. A lot of
proprietary 'cures' contain Buchu. Usnea Lichen — Soothing and antiseptic, this tea can help ease the pain and is said to help heal a damaged bladder lining. Corn silk (Zea Mays) — Soothing, diuretic. It may help you to pass water, so can be good for damaged kidneys. Other people have said that a level teaspoon of sodium bicarb in a glass of water can help. Robinsons Lemon Barley water drunk neat, (about 1/2 a pint sipped slowly, then drink polenty of water, eases the symptoms for a lot of people.
