Chessie's Story
Chessie started having attacks of cystitis
early last year. The vets said it was due to stress, probably caused by
the sad loss to illness of two of his friends. He was treated with antibiotics,
and the cystitis went away, only to return a few weeks later. More antibiotics
followed, this time a stronger type, and these again worked for a while,
but the cystitis returned yet again. The vet said that he would probably
get bouts of cystitis for the rest of his life, and he is only 4!
I contacted John and Anna for advice, and started giving Chessie Waterfall D-Mannose, a quarter of a teaspoon dissolved in a little water, approximately
3 times a day. I used a syringe (without needle) to squirt it into his
mouth. It cleared his cystitis almost immediately, and I continued the
dosage for a week or so before gradually reducing it over a period of
weeks until he was just having a 'maintenance dose' once a week. He didn't
seem to mind the taste of it either, which was a bonus as I didn't have
to fight to give it to him.
Chessie hasn't had a bout of cystitis since! However, I always keep some
handy just in case, as I am confident that Waterfall D-Mannose will clear
it up.
