Victoria's story...My introduction to uti's came over 3 years ago when I had severe pressure, and bladder pain, and had to pee every minute. When I noticed blood, I went to the A&E, where I was asked for a specimin....only the cup was full of blood.(I have a very rare type of haemophilia that makes uti's and kidney infections even more dangerous.) I was put on an I.V of antibiotics, as well as oral antibiotics, the usual suspects: ciproflaxicin and trimethiprim...names I 'd get to know so well..... Every week or two, I 'd get another infection, and with it, another course of antibiotics. Sometimes, I 'd get 2-3 courses of antibiotics, a favourite contender being cephalexin. Ths went on for a year, and then I got my first kidney infection. Swelling, back, side and stomach pain, stabbing pains, fever, nausea, really fun stuff... Back to hospital in agony, back on I.V and oral antibiotics. I was sent home after 8 days with 2 weeks worth of the 2 oral antibiotics. You get the picture......, hospital, drugs, bed, recovery.....new infection, drugs, bed, recovery,I've had G.P's, and A&E doctors tell me countless times that I had no infection, which literally was insult to injury. I know my body, and I know when somethings wrong, and as anyone who's had a bladder or kidney infection, you know when you have one. After finally finding a specialist who looks at the
sample under a microscope (instead of using the
grossly insensitve dip-stick test GP's use). he shook
his head and told me not to listen to the GP, as they
really have no idea what they are they are dealing I had been given doxycycline 200mg after my last kidney infection where I had the trusty I.V antibiotics and four infectious diseases doctors fussing and conferring looking comically serious.. I stayed on doxycycline for months, until the pain and severe acid burn from my stomach for which I was prescribed Zolton for, was just too much to take anymore. Doxycycline is prescribed at 100mg for syphillis, for 1 week. I was taking 200mg a day, for months, just ot give you an indication as to the severity of this infection. The specialist has since given up on me as there I nothing more that he can do except prescribe me antibiotics.... My marriage broke down due to this infection, I lost my job, and have spent approximately 2 years of my life in bed. In january a friend told me that she had had a persistent and aggresive kidney infection when she was 15-16, and that it had completely cleared up when she took 'a powdery sugar'. She gave me the website, and I ordered my first batch of Waterfall D-Mannose. At the time, I was fighting yet another infection, taking doxycycline 200mg and feeling like hell. The d-mannose made a difference right away. I have since been taking the kidney infection treatment as suggested on the Waterfall D-Mannose website. It works. A kidney infection that would be raging for 6 weeks, with a further 6 weeks recovery time, was cut down to 1 week all up. My immune system started out severely compromised to begin with (i had an inordinate amount of antibiotics as a child), and all the antibiotics prescribed for the uti's and kidney infections, obviously did nothing to help this. I've discovered that the aloe & garlic with Waterfall D-Mannose is as effective as an anti-inflamitory measure as is amitriptyline, which I now take at a reduced dosage. I cannot thank both John and Anna enough for all their help, time, considerate understanding and kindness that goes well above the call of duty, like sending me aloe leaves through the post! Our conversations have educated me, and given me hope that I can finally beat this. More importantly, Waterfall D-Mannose powder is kicking butt!!....I have a lot of angry e-coli bacteria in there, that's being evicted. THANKYOU. Victoria |
